Emery Owen – Owner

Our company’s namesake founded Emery Pump Service in 1984 after seeing a need in his parents’ company, Owen Drilling Company, for water well pump installers. As the water well business grew, Emery decided to further expand his horizons in 1991 to the wastewater world by purchasing his first septic tank pumping truck. After a decade of serving Central Arkansas as a licensed pumper, he obtained his septic system installer license in 2001 and started paving the way for his children to follow in his footsteps. He was joined by his youngest daughter, Shayna, and her husband, William, in 2021 to continue serving not only the Central Arkansas area but the Northeast as well by adding wastewater system designing to their line of services.

Shayna Brooks – Partner

Emery’s youngest daughter, Shayna, began to pursue her wastewater career in 2014 after graduating Arkansas State University with a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture. She obtained her Designated Representative design license in 2015 after working with some of the top designers in the state. After a short time, she was offered a position with the Arkansas Department of Health and became the Environmental Health Specialist stationed in Craighead County in 2016. Feeling the call to move back to Saline County in 2019, she obtained employment with a fellow wastewater company and became a licensed septic system installer as well as a licensed maintenance provider. Seeing the opportunities available at Emery Pump Service, she and her husband William formed a partnership with Emery in Spring of 2021 where they expanded their services and areas covered.

William Brooks – Partner

Shayna’s husband, William, began his wastewater career early in life. His extensive background covers residential septic systems and larger commercial projects that include city sewer mains and water lines. He is a talented excavator operator and has assisted in several projects including the installation of Valero/Big Red’s aerobic septic system on Hwy 67, Sheridan, Habitat for Humanity’s store in Hot Springs, and Jonesboro’s “City Within a City” on Hwy 49. He obtained his septic system installer license in 2020 and joined Shayna in the pursuit of knowledge of wastewater design in 2021 by signing up for the Designated Representative program. He will be eligible in May 2023 to take the test for his design license.
